Standards
These standards have been named in honour & remembrance of School's Outs Paul Patrick, & the incredible work he did. The Quality Standards have been created from over forty combined years of work with young LGBT people and youth work experienced and have been informed by professionals working in the education field. The Quality Standards measure the access, inclusion & participation of young people in an education setting. This helps education and youth settings to address any inequalities experienced by young LGBT people and to set meaningful goals to overcome these. The standards help foster a safer and more positive environment for all students and young people. We have themed the criteria in accordance with the Every Child Matters and Youth Matters Outcomes. the 8 thematic strands help education and youth settings to achieve the standards in a coordinated manner. 5 levels of achievement - These will be recognised through
completed assessments and peer inspections, and are renewable every two
years.
